Garth Tuxford is a former Royal Navy Diver and Physical Trainer whose seventeen-year military career placed him in some of the world’s most volatile and unforgiving environments. Serving across Africa, Asia, and Europe, he operated in conditions where discipline, preparation, and clear decision-making were often the difference between survival and failure. Exposure to hostile fire and high-risk operations shaped not only his professional life but also his understanding of fear and the human capacity to endure under pressure.
His writing is informed by lived experience rather than imagination alone. The realities of military structure, intelligence discipline, and operational restraint are central to his work, giving his fiction a level of authenticity that resonates with readers seeking realism over spectacle. He does not write romanticized heroism. He writes about responsibility and the quiet resolve required in moments where no margin for error exists.
Beyond my military service, I have always been a lifelong explorer. My experiences extend far beyond conventional travel and include underwater and underground caving expeditions, treks through dense Asian rainforests, ascents of high-altitude mountain ranges, explorations of active volcanic regions, and even witnessing the formation of new islands.
After leaving the military, I continued working internationally, managing licensed trade operations and later moving into the travel industry across Sri Lanka, India, and the Maldives. During this time, I published my first literary work, Poetry Like No Other, and received recognition from the International Poetry Society for my poem Peace in Our Land. Now retired, I write full-time.

The Yemeni Effect
This is a fasting moving read as the author writes about a young woman’s adventure as she goes undercover into a terror cell in the Yemen. A realistic portrayal of events which everyone should read.

The Lion Hunter
I liked the unfolding personalities of the characters. Also, the fact that the author has been in every country where the story takes place. Wow! What a good book!!

The Lion Hunter
A great read, having lived in Africa, I felt involved in the exciting adventure.
